Dined at the Bamboo Shoot in Lake Chelan Wa, on Friday Sept 18th 2009. This is a new Thai food establishment in Chelan. A much needed one I must say. I love Chelan but, it lacks the cultural type restaurants we find so popular here on the West Coast. They have a few dishes that are served in pinapple and coconut shells. A very fun touch I thought. I ordered the Massamen sp? Curry with chicken and my mother ordered the Green Curry with Chicken. It was good. Not fabulous but, good. My favorite is Lanna Thai in Everett off Evergreen way and they set the standard so far. I would go to the Bamboo Shoot again because the food was hot, good and something different for Chelan. The prices are a medium to high but, in a tourist town you come to expect it. For each dish it was 15.95$ so for 2 to eat it was around $30.00. Without beverages. I like this series on HBO. It is different, funny and unexpected. I am not sure whether I like Nancy or not. I am unsure and that is strange to not bond with the main actress. This is interesting to me because I keep watching it. Still no bond. hmmmm.

triaminic cold and cough strips

My 2 1/2 year old or 31 month old had a fever on Sunday. Monday she was fine by that evening she was coughing. By Tuesday it was uncontrollable. I took her to the Dr. on Thurs and he said just a virus and has to run it’s course. Just keep doing the benadryl in the evening and tylenol during the day. Ugh. Seriously we are not sleeping at this point and I have already missed 2 days this week and had to pay for childcare on the days I was home with her. Help. I was desperate. The news talked about not giving children under 5 cold meds but maybe in the pre measured out ones they would have something for her. YES! Triaminic Cold and cough strips. The dose on the back said children 2-6 dissolve one strip. It only quieted the cough for four hours but I got four hours of sleep and then re administered. Much better than my drugged up comotose benadryl baby that was really still coughing. All totalled up after second dose we got 7 hrs of sleep. Wow! With a sick child that is something to rave about!

This was the best! A real lifesaver. Let me start with the positives…

Less earaches- there is no air going in due to suction in tube and baby needs to be sitting up as well.

You have your hands!- need I say more? Ok ok we need to hold our babies most of the time. Of course. But heres the scenario….You are driving, baby is crying, you reach in your bag and grab a podee, nudge it in the side of car seat give baby the nipple and wahlaah. no more upset baby, you don’t have to pull over to feed.

Need more ok…..you need to get ready for babies Dr. Appt. But it’s feed time.,,nestle into car seat or bouncy chair give baby nipple. whallah! you get ready and sit baby near you.

Negatives- mind you the positives outway the negs

the tubes are difficult to clean and I replaced then monthly. Buy extra tubes!!!! Buy cleaning jigamabob they sell. It is necessary. Thats it. Don’t buy these as your main bottle. They are for circumstances like the above. But come on…these times are many. Enjoy your peaceful 30 minutes of bottle free time. ps. I give these away at every shower. They are a miracle. Wellness Elderberry liquid extract

This is a immune defense like Sambu Guard-Sambucal (the one I rave about) but, tastes much worse. I suppose if I couldn’t get Sambucal I would buy it and drop it in juice or something but I know my children would not take it. And what is the point if they won’t take it? shoot, I can barely stand to take it. It tastes like I am drinking a straight shot of liquer. It burns all the way down and some after. Taken from Sambucus Nigra. You are supposed to take 1t when well and 2-4 when feeling some virus coming on. For awhile I would fill up the dropper that came in the cap and think it was a teaspoon. Ha! It was only 1/4t so you need to take 4 of those and with as nasty as it tastes you really want it in one straight shot. oooh yuck. I won’t be buying this again.

Sunlight Dishwasher detergent

I thought my dishwasher was broken. Nope just crummy detergent. Left a film and spots and frankly…did not clean. I had to hand wash my dishes to get the residue off. Yuck. Never again.

Blackberry Storm

The blackberry storm is a version of a smart phone. I have had lots of these. This is a touch screen. I like that I can take music from itunes transfer to windows media to the phone. I even use my phone as my mp3 when I run now because I can answer a phone call or even call for help if need be. I like the touch screen. It has been two months and no issues. I love the Facebook app, Myspace app, Yelp ( like a gps in your area) It has a gps too so I can track distance when I run. I found it to be easier than Palm smart phones,,,,I have had them all and I like Verizon’s service over Sprint so it works for me. Any questions feel free to ask in the comment thread.

This is a pretty good show. I look forward to watching it every week. It’s about a male teacher who is obviously well endowed and being pimped out by a very hippy chick. It’s just interesting. A step away from the norm.

Not much to say on this show for the season starting but………….too much drama. Unrealistic drama. The teens run around talking about buying drinks and champagne like they are of legal age and it even shows them in bars. I don’t know how that works but last I checked they would have to steal it from mom and dad like most teens. I think 90210 did this desperate dive for viewers when I was in my teens too. Now it is following the same format. It’s almost like they run out of material. Either I’m to old to appreciate it or it’s to boring and dated. Who knows it’s just my opinion after all.

I have been to Tokyo house a number of times and the Sushi is always fress and well prepared. The atmosphere is clean and I feel safe eating there. I was just at the Smokey Point/ Arlington Tokyo House on Sunday and it was Amazing. I had the 911 Roll I know that it had shrimp tempura, and Tuna as well as that amazing sauce they put on the top. I had a salad and a Sapporo beer. My total bill was 22.00$ That is reasonable. I stopped into the Everett Mall way and got a 911 roll to go. You could say I was craving it as it is now Tuesday. Ha! Well much to my DISMAY it had no shrimp tempura and was half heartedly prepared. It didn’t even taste the same. Now remember I had just eaten at the Arlington and even the Snohomish one 2 weeks before so I had 911 roll comparison. If I had no comparison it probably would have been fine. In addition to it not being what was expected and I am already in my car as I got it to go, I was shocked at the price. For 1 roll it was 15.95$ Now if it had the tempura shrimp, tuna, and all it should have maybe that price would be easier to take but, it didn’t. Come on! Don’t they know we are all paying attention these days? In this economy you would think they would try to be better. hmph. Well I wont be returning to the Everett Mall way Tokyo house anytime soon. What a disappointment.
